Child Pulled From Burning Pick-Up, Critical Condition

896-40-Semi-Truck-Crash4Newark –  State Police and a Good Samaritan pulled a six year old child from a burning pick-up truck early this morning. Police say the crash occurred at approximately 2:02 a.m. on northbound DE Route 896 at US 40 (Pulaski Highway), Newark, and involved a tractor trailer and a Ford F-150 pick-up truck. As a result of the crash, four people have been transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

Reports from the scene indicate the tractor tailor stuck the pick-up in the rear pushing  the truck across the intersection, where it burst into flames. The man and woman from the pick-up truck we taken to Christiana Hospital for evaluation, the tractor trailer driver was also taken to Christiana Hospital with unspecified injuries. The child was taken to A.I. Dupout and is listed in critical condition.
