Crash In Newark This Morning, Officials Update Driver’s Condition

Newark – At approximately 8:00 this morning, New Castle County Paramedics, Christiana Fire Company and Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company were dispatched to the intersection of Orchard Road and Winslow Road in Newark for a motor vehicle crash, according to authorities.

Officials said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found the patient, 87-year-old male, in care of emergency medical technicians (EMT’s). The patient suffered injuries to his chest and abdomen. The patient was transported to Christiana Hospital via Christiana Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.

Newark –  At approximately 8:15, as crews from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder and the Christiana Fire Company were wrapping up a crash scene on Otts Chapel Road, they received word that a crash had just occurred at Winslow Road and Orchard Road.

Crews were told that the occupants of one of the vehicles were trapped.  As additional crews from Aetna’s Station 9, along with New Castle County Paramedics arrived they alerted dispatch that no one was trapped.

New Castle County Paramedics transported one patient with undetermined injuries to Christina Hospital.

Newark Police are investigating.
