Boyce Drops His Bid For US Senate Seat Due To Health Concerns

A year in and Republican Chuck Boyce has ended his campaign due to “a health concerns.”. In a post on his Facebook page, Boyce announced that he was ending his bid for the Republican nomination for Delaware’s U.S. Senate seat.

Due to a health concern, I’m suspending my campaign for the US Senate. I am very grateful to everyone that has supported me during the past year, and I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to see this through to November.

I look forward to actively supporting Republican candidates and the DEGOP in their efforts to bring a conservative perspective to Dover.

I will continue to advocate for veterans, small businesses and for local control of education.

Boyce’s  decision to drop out of the race leaves Eugene (Gene) Truono as the only Republican candidate running for Delaware’s U.S. Senate seat.  Truono, a former Pay Pal executive, who announced his candidacy in late February said

“Chuck has been at this for some time and was running a very formidable campaign, I wish him the best and hope for his speedy recovery.”

The decision by Boyce comes just days after the he and Truono held their first debate in Bethany Beach (See video).

A long list of well wishers responded to Boyce’s Facebook post, many offering prayers and get well soon messages.
