Double Homicide On Kiamensi Road In Stanton, County Police Investigating

New Castle County Police are actively investigating an apparent Homicide that occurred on Kiamensi Rd in the area of the Glen Burnie Estates.

Earlier this morning (May 24), New Castle County Police were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of the intersection of Kiamensi Rd @ Rothwell Dr. When the units arrived, they discovered two injured subjects inside of the vehicle. Both of the subjects had apparent gunshot wounds and were later pronounced deceased by New Castle County Paramedics.

Detectives from the New Castle County Police Homicide Squad arrived on scene and assumed the investigation. This is currently an ongoing and active investigation. No suspect information is available at this time.

Stanton – New Castle County Police are investigating a fatal indicdent on Kismendi Road in Stanton.

Detectives are currently examining a car that is partially off the roadway. The car is surrounded by numbered yellow evidence tags.

In response to questions for residents on our Facebook page New Castle County Councilman David Tackett said the following:

At 0150 hours, officers responded to a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Kiamensi Business Park. Upon arrival officers found the two subjects deceased. Indications are that it appears to be a Homicide. Criminal Investigations Unit is assuming the investigation. ??

Stanton – Just after 4:30 this morning New Castle County Police restricted access to Kiamensi Road between Stanton Road and Newport Road.
In a message tweeted out officials said “Avoid the area of Kiamensi Road. Police activity in the area has Kiamensi Road shut down between Stanton Road and Newport Rd. Use alternative routes! Updates to follow.”

As of 7:11 am the road appears to be shut down.
