Troopers Looking For Group Of Armed Home Invasion Suspects

Felton- The Delaware State Police are investigating a home invasion in which shots were fired early this morning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on January 2, 2019, at approximately 12:46 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 100 block of Gelden Road in reference to a home invasion with shots fired. Upon arrival, Troopers made contact with three male victims ages 20, 29, 67 and one 44-year-old female. Through interviews, it was determined that between four to six males gained entry into the residence by kicking open a door. It was indicated that at least three of the suspects were armed with handguns. While one of the male victims was in a bedroom attempting to hold the door shut, one of the suspects discharged a firearm at the door, said Jaffe. When the suspects were advised that the police had been contacted, they fled from the residence. As the suspects were fleeing, one of them discharged their firearm outside of the residence.

There were no reports of any injuries and the suspects did not obtain any property from the residence.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact, Troop 3, Criminal Investigative Unit, Detective M. Weinstein at 302-698-8443.
