19-Year-Old Shot And Killed In Sparrow Run Went Missing Last Month

New Castle County Police are actively investigating what they are labeling an “apparent Homicide” that occurred in the community of Sparrow Run in Newark.

Wednesday night, Mar 6, 2019, at 11:45 p.m., officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to a shooting which had occurred on the unit block of Raven Turn. When the units arrived, they discovered a 19-year-old Dyron Nuriddin with a gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were initiated and performed by the initial responding officers, however, Nuriddin ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced deceased, according to police.

Last month New Castle County Division of Police issued a Gold Alert for Nuriddin asking the public to help locate him. On February 12, at around 2:30 p.m., officers dispatched to Raven Turn learned that Nuriddin had left the residence after an argument. As he was leaving the residence he made statements that caused concern for his welfare, police said at the time. He was later located and the alert was canceled.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit Homicide Squad are currently investigating the Nuriddin’s death.
