Troopers: Woman Charged With Slashing Her Girlfriend With Pocket Knife

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police have arrested 34-year-old Shannon M. Henderson of Wilmington on June 28, 2020, who was wanted for felony domestic assault, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Heather Pepper.

Pepper said the incident occurred on June 21, 2020, at approximately 4:50 p.m., when Troopers responded to the 2600 block of Lancaster Avenue, Wilmington, for a physical domestic. Troopers learned through their investigation Henderson was involved in a verbal argument with her 33-year-old girlfriend. The argument escalated, and Henderson used a pocket knife she had in her possession and cut the victim on her right forearm, causing a laceration that required medical treatment, according to Heather.

Henderson was charged with Assault 2nd Degree and was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court. She was committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $2,500.00 secured bond.
