Newark Man Shot In The Head During Shooting At Local Hotel

Newark- The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred last night and left one man wounded, according to Public Information Officer, Corporal/1 Jason Hatchell.

Hatchell said the incident occurred on September 30, 2020, at approximately 8:03 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the TownePlace Suites, located at 410 Eagle Run Road in Newark, in reference to a shots fired complaint. Prior to arrival, it was learned that a 28-year-old male from Newark had arrived at a local area hospital for a gunshot graze wound to the back of the head.

Troopers located several casings and a magazine in the parking lot of the hotel, according to Hatchell. No other details were released by police.

There is no suspect information at this time and no other reported injuries.
