Chionchio said the blaze, reported around 9:30 Friday evening, occurred in the 200 block of Wilmington Avenue near Terminal Avenue in Eden Park Gardens. The Holloway Terrace Fire Company arrived on the scene with smoke showing from the exterior. Firefighters worked to contain the fire and were able to bring it under control. Crews remained on scene for about two hours.

State fire investigators were called to the scene and are currently working to determine the fire’s origin and cause said Chionchio. Eight residents were able to escape from the home without injury. The American Red Cross is providing emergency assistance to those in need.
