Just In: Car Engulfed By Flames At Elkton Gas Station

Just before 5:00, Saturday afternoon firefighters from the Singerly Fire Company in Elkton, Maryland were alerted to a vehicle fire that was threatening a structure.

Crews learned that the vehicle was on fire next to the gas pumps at the Flying J Travel Center, located at 221 Belle Hill Road.

First arriving crews were able to bring the fire under control within minutes. The fire blackened the station’s canopy over the pumps, however, there did not appear to be any structural damage.

Firefighters from Newark’s Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder, Elkton Police, and Maryland State Police also responded to assist.

No injuries were reported.
