Update: Teenager Shot In New Castle On Friday

Police are investigating the shooting of a sixteen-year-old in New Castle.

Officials said on Friday at approximately 1:30 p.m. officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the community of Sophia’s Place West for the report of a subject that had been shot.

When officers arrived at the unit block of Highland Blvd, they located a 16-year-old male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds to his upper and lower extremities. The victim was assisted by a good Samaritan who rendered aid until police and emergency medical services arrived. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived and assumed the investigation.
