Crime Continues To Plague Dover-Area Neighborhood

On Friday night, March 25, 2022, State Police once again responded to the Rodney Village Development for a crime in progress.

Police have not released details regarding the latest incident that occurred in the 1500 block of  Nathaniel Mitchell Road, however, FSU has learned that at least one vehicle was stolen and fled from police.

We have also learned that when the first Trooper arrived on scene the driver of the stolen vehicle drove through several yards to get around the Trooper, narrowly missing a pedestrian. Several yards and a fence were damaged as the suspect fled.

We’re told that Troopers are also investigating another stolen vehicle indecent that occurred at around the same time. The vehicle owned by a Rodney Village resident was reportedly taken from a nearby store.

Residents report that a Delaware State Police helicopter was overhead searching and that police were using a K-9 officer to track a suspect or suspects.
