Search Warrants Lead to Substantial Heroin / Fentanyl and Cocaine Seizures
Officials said as a result of a drug investigation, members of the Homeland Security Investigations – Border Enforcement Security Task Force, New Castle City Police Department, and Smyrna Police Department executed a search warrant at an apartment located in the 200 block of Thorn Lane in Newark, Delaware.
Inside of this apartment, Officers and Agents contacted Erickson Fajardo-Solano, 32 of Newark, Delaware, and Jairo Almarante-Diaz, 35 of Newark, Delaware. A search of this apartment resulted with officials locating the following items:
-$537.00 of suspected drug proceeds
-13.0 grams of Heroin / Fentanyl
-5.8 grams of Cocaine / Crack Cocaine
Through investigative measures, officials determined that Almarante-Diaz also utilized a second address located in the unit block of Winchester Road in Newark, Delaware. Officials said a search warrant for an apartment located on Winchester Road was obtained and police recovered the following items:
-3,391.8 grams of Heroin / Fentanyl
-59.2 grams of Cocaine / Crack Cocaine
-$935.00 of suspected drug proceeds
Almarante-Diaz was charged with two counts of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, two counts of possession of a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, conspiracy 2nd degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Almarante-Diaz was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 11 via videophone and was remanded to the Delaware Department of Correction after failing to post a $120,200.00 cash bail.
Fajardo-Solano was charged with two counts of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, two counts of possession of a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, conspiracy 2nd degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
