Knifepoint Robbery Fails When Clerk Says No

Earlier today, an attempted armed robbery took place at the Valero Shore Stop in Felton.

Officials said in the early hours of Tuesday morning, around 8:50, officers were called to investigate an attempted robbery store located at 8953 S. Dupont Highway.

During this incident, an unknown white male suspect entered the store with his face concealed by a shirt. Approaching the store clerk from behind the counter, the suspect displayed a knife and demanded access to the cash register according to police. However, the clerk’s non-compliance led the suspect to try and remove the entire cash register. He encountered difficulties in doing so and subsequently fled from the store and was last seen heading southbound.

The store clerk was unharmed, and no items or cash were stolen during this incident according to police. This outcome contrasts with the initial gravity of the situation, as a potentially dangerous armed robbery was averted.

The Delaware State Police’s Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit is diligently handling this case. Detectives are actively seeking any information that could assist in identifying and locating the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, with an estimated weight between 210 to 250 pounds.
