Police Confirm Four Shot, Release Conditions

Wilmington Police are actively investigating a shooting incident that unfolded on Saturday night in the 300 block of Chapel Street.

Upon arriving at the scene, the police found two victims shortly after arriving at the scene. Two other victims were found several minutes later after they called 911. All were suffering from shot wounds.

Among the victims, a 29-year-old male was critically injured, a 20-year-old male was listed in stable condition, and two 42-year-old females were also listed in stable condition.

In an effort to assist with the investigation, the Wilmington Police Department is encouraging anyone who may have information related to this incident to come forward. Detective Joran Merced can be reached at 302-576-3637.

A male subject was pursued by officers after he fled the scene on foot. He was taken into custody a few blocks away a short time later. Police did not release details regarding the arrest in their update.
