Sources: Thursday Multi-State Police Chase Ends With Two In Custody

A police chase involving a stolen vehicle out of Maryland led to a multi-state pursuit on Thursday according to sources.

The pursuit involved several law enforcement agencies, including Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4 and Maryland State Police Aviation’s Trooper 1.

Sources in law enforcement tell FSU that the chase began with the stolen vehicle in question, a white Toyota Rav 4 with Maryland license plates, which had been involved in a previous chase by the Delaware State Police near the mall on Wednesday. The suspects managed to evade capture then but were again spotted in the same stolen vehicle, initiating another pursuit in the Newark area.

The suspects fled along Route 40, traveled through Newark and entered Cecil County, Maryland. The chase down back roads led officers all of the way down to the Susquehanna River before heading north towards Pennsylvania.

As the suspects crossed into Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Trooper 4 and Maryland State Police Aviation’s Trooper 1 were both in pursuit of the stolen vehicle. During the chase, the suspects were observed stealing gas cans to refuel the stolen vehicle, enabling them to continue the chase.

The police chase finally came to an end in Penn Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, with Pennsylvania State Police making the arrest of both suspects involved in the stolen vehicle chase according to sources familiar with the incident.

It’s not clear how the pursuit ended, however, an ambulance was dispatched to the scene of the arrests for an accident.
