Driver Trapped In Kirkwood Highway Crash Monday

WILMINGTON, DE — A male patient was involved in a vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road earlier this morning.

Emergency response crews were dispatched at approximately 9:18 AM, according to initial reports.

The response included crews from New Castle County Paramedics, Mill Creek Fire Company, and Cranston Heights Fire Company. The individual was successfully extricated from the vehicle shortly before 9:30 AM.

Following the extraction, the patient was assessed by medical personnel at the scene. Initial reports indicate that the man suffered what are believed to non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Christiana Hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

It’s not clear if anyone else was injured in the accident.

The scene has been turned over to the Delaware State Police for investigation.
