Overturned Dump Truck Carrying Boulders Crashes On I-95, At Least One Hospitalized

A dump truck accident on Interstate 95 has resulted in significant traffic disruptions after the vehicle overturned into a jersey barrier shortly before 2:45 PM on Monday.

The collision forced the closure of the interstate in both directions south of the Christina River Bridge, as emergency services, including a medical helicopter, responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, rescue teams worked to free the driver of a sedan that was involved in the crash, with a helicopter landing on-site to aid in the efforts. Four individuals were initially evaluated at the scene according to reports, one of whom was trapped and has since been extricated and taken to the hospital. Initial reports also indicated that a large boulder from the overturned dump truck was inside the sedan.

As the cleanup and investigation continue, HAZMAT units are en route to manage any hazardous materials risks. Authorities are urging drivers to seek alternative routes to avoid the affected section of I-95. Updates will follow as officials release more details on the incident.
