Police: Maryland Man Shot And Killed, No Threat To The Public

Regional Desk: Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Monday morning in Dorchester County, Maryland.

Shortly before 8:00, officers from the Cambridge Police Department responded to the 600 block of Bradley Avenue for a report of a shooting.

According to a preliminary investigation, the victim, Taron Jones, 36, of Cambridge, Maryland, was discovered suffering from at least one apparent gunshot wound. He was declared deceased at the scene by Dorchester County emergency medical services personnel.

The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit was asked to take over the lead of the investigation into the case. The Cambridge Police Department is assisting the Maryland State Police in its investigation.

Homicide detectives have consulted with the Dorchester County State’s Attorney Office. Homicide detectives have identified a person of interest in this case and there is no threat to the public at this time police said.
