Major Lane Closures On I-95, 72, And 896 Starting Monday

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) has issued an advisory regarding upcoming lane and ramp closures at the I-95/Route 896 Interchange in New Castle County. This traffic alert is significant for commuters and travelers in the area, as it involves both daytime and overnight disruptions.

For I-95, there will be daytime lane closures affecting the northbound direction. These closures are scheduled from Monday, January 8, through Thursday, January 11. The affected segment is the stretch between the Route 896 Interchange and the Welcome Center. These closures will be in effect from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Additionally, there will be overnight lane closures on State Route 72 (SR 72). These are planned from Monday, January 8, through Friday, January 12. The specific section impacted is between Scottfield Drive and Peoples Drive. To facilitate traffic flow and safety during these closures, flaggers will be present to direct traffic. The overnight closures are scheduled from 7 PM to 7 AM.
