Pedestrian Airlifted In Critical Condition Tuesday

Delaware State Police are investigating a crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 3:32 pm at the intersection of Concord Pike and Weldin Road in Wilmington Tuesday.

New Castle County Paramedics, Talleyville Fire Company, and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to the scene following reports of the accident.

Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found a 65-year-old male patient being attended to by Talleyville Fire Company EMTs. It was reported that the male, while pushing a vehicle, was struck by another vehicle. He sustained significant injuries to his lower extremities and pelvic area. New Castle County Paramedics provided on-scene treatment and subsequently transported him to Christiana Hospital via Delaware State Police Aviation helicopter, with paramedics accompanying him. The patient was in critical condition during transport.

Additionally, a 32-year-old female patient was treated at the scene by New Castle County Paramedics. She had minor injuries to her extremities. She was transported to Wilmington Hospital in a Talleyville Fire Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics.
