Man Struck By Vehicle In Elsmere Friday

At approximately 2:31 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a traffic incident at the intersection of Kirkwood Highway and New Road in Elsmere.

First responders from the Elsmere Fire Company arrived at the scene to find a 58-year-old male who had been struck by a vehicle.

Due to the nature of his injuries, New Castle County Paramedics were also called to assist. The injured man was treated at the scene for possible internal injuries and subsequently transported to Christiana Hospital in Stanton, where he was listed in serious condition.

The Elsmere Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
