Photos: Firefighters Battling Fire In St. Georges

Firefighters are currently battling a residential structure fire in the unit block of South Main Street, in South St Georges.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 11:40 Monday morning, following reports of a large fire. Upon arrival, the first responders observed flames through the roof of the structure, creating a dense column of smoke visible from several miles away.

According to initial reports from the scene, there’s a concern for the welfare of two dogs believed to be inside the residence. Just before noon, crews reported holes in the floor. Minutes later command ordered an evacuation of the structure. Emergency response teams continue working to bring the fire under control.
