Happening Now: Authorities Investigating Fatal Crash In Cecil County

File

Just after 8:00 Monday morning, rescue crews from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder were dispatched to assist Cecil County responders following a reported crash at the intersection of Appleton Road and Riverside Drive.

Initial reports from a caller indicated that a vehicle was upside down in a creek. The caller was unsure if anyone was inside the vehicle but noted the possibility of entrapment.

Upon arrival, rescue crews confirmed that a vehicle was overturned in the creek. After an inspection of the vehicle, it was determined that the vehicle was occupied, and the occupant had succumbed to their injuries.

As a result of the incident, Appleton Road is expected to remain closed for several hours. Authorities are advising motorists to seek alternative routes and to exercise caution in the area.

This is a developing story.
