Shooting Sends Man In His 50s To Trauma Center Tuesday

A man in his 50s was reportedly shot multiple times Tuesday afternoon in Wilmington.

Initial reports indicate that the shooting occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m. in the area of West 7th and West Streets. Wilmington Police and rescue crews were dispatched to the scene, where they located the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Emergency medical personnel rendered aid on-site before the victim was transported to the trauma center by ambulance. The man’s condition has not been publicly disclosed at this time.

Detectives with the Wilmington Police Department secured the area and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
