One Dead, One Injured Sunday, What Police Are Saying

Wilmington Police reported two separate shooting investigations on Sunday, leaving one man dead and another injured.

The first incident occurred at approximately 9:02 p.m. in the area of East 23rd and Carter Streets. Officers responding to the location found a 45-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Earlier in the evening, police were called at approximately 5:29 p.m. to the 2600 block of North Harrison Street for another shooting. Responding officers located a 21-year-old male with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Both investigations remain active as detectives work to determine the circumstances surrounding each shooting.
