Young Man Critically Injured In Newark-Area Crash

Delaware State Police are investigating a serious accident that occured early Monday.

The motor vehicle accident occurred at Chestnut Hill Plaza, resulting in a subject being ejected from a vehicle. The incident was reported at approximately 12:23 am, on Monday and emergency responders were dispatched immediately.

New Castle County Paramedics and Aetna Hose, Hook, & Ladder Company of Newark arrived at the scene and confirmed the report of a critically injured patient.

The patient, a 33-year-old male, was already receiving care from Aetna Hose, Hook, & Ladder Company EMTs upon the arrival of New Castle County Paramedics. He had sustained significant head injuries and possible internal injuries. Paramedics provided on-scene treatment before transporting the patient to Christiana Hospital via Aetna Hose, Hook, & Ladder Company ambulance. The patient remained in critical condition during transportation.
