County Police are investigating a shooting that occurred behind Governor’s Square early this morning.
In the early hours of Thursday morning multiple callers reported a shooting in Bear. The incident which occurred around 12:05. brought a large response of police and first responders.
First arriving crews learned that a man in his twenties had been shot but was no longer at the scene. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was discovered about three quarters of a mile away from the shooting location.
The patient was treated at that location and transported to a nearby trauma center for urgent medical treatment. The current status of his condition remains unknown.
New Castle County Police are conducting an investigation, working to unravel the details surrounding the shooting and identify any potential suspects. At this stage, authorities have not released details surrounding the about the incident.
