Serious Rollover Crash Sends Two To Hospital By Air Monday

Delaware State Police are investigating a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred Monday morning at the intersection of Wheatleys Pond Road and Bryn-Zion Road in Smyrna. The crash, which involved a rollover and entrapment, was reported at approximately 8:38 a.m.

Emergency crews from Cheswold Volunteer Fire Company, Hartly Volunteer Fire Company, Clayton Fire Company, Smyrna EMS, Kent County Paramedics, and Delaware State Police Aviation responded to the scene. Upon arrival, first responders found one occupant trapped inside the vehicle and another reportedly ejected.

Medical personnel identified the victims as one adult and one pediatric patient. The pediatric patient was transported by air to AI DuPont. Extrication of the adult victim was completed by 9:00 a.m. That patient was transported by air to Christiana Hospital.
