A man was critically injured after an argument over a missing debit card escalated into a stabbing outside a Dover bar late Sunday night, according to the Delaware State Police.
Troopers said the incident occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. on May 3 at Touchdown Lounge. Investigators said 44-year-old Charles Murray, of Felton, accused the victim and a bartender of stealing his debit card before punching the victim inside the bar.

Police said the victim later went outside and began speaking with a friend seated in a vehicle when Murray approached the driver’s side door. The friend exited the vehicle and became involved in a physical altercation with Murray. As the victim moved toward the two men, investigators allege Murray stabbed him multiple times.
Both Murray and the victim were transported to an area hospital. Detectives later learned the victim suffered critical injuries, while Murray was not injured.
Murray was taken into custody without incident and transported to Delaware State Police Troop 3. He was charged with first-degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $102,000 cash bond.
