Dover Police have announced a third arrest in connection with the Christmas Eve 2024 shooting that resulted in the death of 14-year-old Juwan Walker.
A 16-year-old male was taken into custody Thursday, August 13, 2026, at his residence in Pennsylvania by members of the United States Marshals Middle Pennsylvania/Harrisburg Fugitive Task Force and First State Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from Dover Police detectives.
Police obtained an arrest warrant for the teenager on August 10 following the continuing investigation into Walker’s death. Upon extradition to Delaware, the 16-year-old will be charged with second-degree murder, first-degree conspiracy, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a person under 18 and possession of ammunition by a person under 18.
The shooting occurred at approximately 6:50 p.m. on December 24, 2024, on Willis Road, north of North Little Creek Road. Investigators determined Walker was sitting inside a parked vehicle when two males approached. Police said one of the suspects fired several rounds at the vehicle, striking Walker, before the suspects fled on foot.
Walker was taken to Bayhealth Kent Campus in a privately owned vehicle before being flown to Nemours Hospital in New Castle County due to the severity of his injuries. He died from those injuries on December 27, 2024.
The following day, Dover Police arrested two other juveniles in connection with the homicide.
On December 28, 2024, the department’s Special Operations Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the unit block of Stevenson Drive, where a 13-year-old Dover male was arrested. Detectives separately arrested a 15-year-old Dover male at an apartment in the 400 block of Country Drive.
Both teenagers were charged with second-degree murder, first-degree conspiracy, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, first-degree reckless endangering and criminal mischief involving damage over $1,000 but under $5,000.
The 13-year-old and 15-year-old were each committed to the Stevenson House Detention Center on $181,000 cash bail.
With Thursday’s arrest in Pennsylvania, three juveniles have now been arrested in connection with Walker’s homicide.
