A six-year-old boy was seriously injured Saturday evening after being struck by an SUV while riding a bicycle in Port Penn.
At approximately 6:03 p.m. on Saturday, Port Penn Fire Company, New Castle County Paramedics and Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4 were dispatched to the 100 block of East Market Street for reports of a juvenile bicyclist struck by a vehicle.
Emergency crews arrived and found the six-year-old boy had been struck by an SUV. Paramedics treated him for head and extremity injuries.
The boy was transported by Delaware State Police helicopter to Nemours Children’s Hospital in serious condition.
Delaware State Police is investigating the crash.
