October 22, 2026 · By First State Update News Room

Dover Police have charged two 30-year-old Dover men in connection with an armed home invasion last month

The incident occurred September 16, 2026, at a residence in the 100 block of Cherry Street in Dover according to police.

Officials said a 15-year-old girl was sitting on a couch downstairs when a masked man entered the home through an unsecured rear door or window. The suspect pointed a black handgun at the girl and demanded money.

When the teenager told the suspect she did not know what money he was referring to, he stole an iPad, iPhone, four bottles of medication, and a Nintendo Switch charging dock before fleeing through the rear of the residence. Four other family members were asleep upstairs at the time of the home invasion.

Detectives subsequently identified two suspects and obtained arrest warrants for both men.

Police said one suspect was already being held at Sussex Community Corrections Center, where he had been in custody since September 17 on unrelated charges. Detectives interviewed him, and he remained in custody pending arraignment.

The second suspect was arrested October 21 with assistance from Probation and Parole. He was processed, arraigned, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $154,000 cash-only bond.

Both men face charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, second-degree conspiracy, and theft involving a victim who is 62 or older.

Police did not release the suspects’ names in the information provided. The department also did not explain the theft charge involving a victim 62 or older, although the teenager was identified as the person threatened during the home invasion.
