Reports: City Bus Evacuated In Newark Due To Smoke

Newark –  At approximately 7:15 this morning crews from Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder responded to reports of a bus on fire at the intersection of Route 72 (S. Chapel Street) and Route 4 (E. Chestnut Hill Road).

Responding units found a DART bus with smoke coming from the front of the bus. Reports from the scene indicate that there may have been some sort of an electrical fire.

All passengers and the driver were evacuated from the bus. No injuries were reported. Passengers are currently waiting for a replacement bus.
