Three Wounded In Two Shootings, One In Critical

Wilmington – On Tuesday August 22nd 2017 at approximately 10:58 pm Wilmington Police Officers responded to the 900 blk of Clifford Brown Walk in regard to a shooting, according to police. Officials said that upon arrival officers located two victims inside of the residence. The first victim, a female, sustained a graze wound to the right shoulder where the projectile then penetrated her neck. The second victim, a male, sustained a graze wound to his chest. Both victims were treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported via ambulance to the Christiana Hospital where they are both listed in stable condition.

Just under 3 hours later and just a mile away from the first shooting police responded to another shots fired call. On Wednesday August 23rd 2017 at approximately 1:50 am, a shot spotter notification was received for 9 shots fired in the area of the 100 blk of E 24th Street. Officers arriving in the area located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body. He was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to Christiana Hospital where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
