Reports: Man Stuck In Wilmington Sewer System Rescued By Firefighters

Wilmington – Rescue crews from the Wilmington Fire Department responded to W 5th Street and N Monroe Street for reports of a man trapped in the sewer system.

Officials have not released any information at this early stage. First State Update has viewed photographs from the scene but cannot publish the images until we hear back from the photographer.

The photographs depict firefighters working to lift someone from a manhole using ropes and a pulley system.

Witness to the recuse reported that a white male was pulled from the manhole.

We’re expecting a statement from the Wilmington Fire Department shortly.
