Happening Now: HAZMAT Teams Responding To Incident In New Castle

New Castle – Just after 9:30 this morning firefighters from the Delaware City Fire Company responded to the 100 block of Centerpoint Blvd.

At around 10:00 crews on scene requested HAZMAT crews for a corrosive material. Command is also reporting an odor in the air.

DNREC and HAZMAT crews from around the county are responding.

Update:

The incident is being described as an uncontained HAZMAT incident.

Crews are entering the building with HAZMAT suits on.
