Newark Accident Leads To DUI, Improper Child Restraint Charges

On Monday, 7/22/19, at approximately 5:27 a Newark Police officer responded to a vehicle collision in the area of 230 East Cleveland Avenue.

Police said during the investigation, the operator, identified as Eniseforo Guerrero, 44,  was found to be driving under the influence, his second offense, and had his 2 1/2-year-old grandson improperly restrained in the front seat.

The driver was charged with DUI, endangering the welfare of a child while DUI, following too closely, driving without a valid license and failing to have a child in a child restraint. The defendant was arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court #11 and was issued $1,253 cash bail which was posted at the court, according to police.
