The Dover Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into a severe vehicular collision that transpired on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 5:31 p.m. The incident occurred in the vicinity of 500 Persimmon Tree Lane, resulting in critical injuries to a 46-year-old Dover woman.
According to Master Corporal Ryan Schmid officers discovered two vehicles with substantial front-end damage when they arrived on scene. The injured woman had to be cut out of the car before she was airlifted to a Christiana Hospital, where she remains in critical condition. The other driver, an 83-year-old male also from Dover, was transported to a nearby hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. For unknown reasons, the Jeep Cherokee entered the eastbound lane traveling westbound causing both vehicles to collide in a head on manner.
