Crash Closes Part Of Route 13 On Friday

Shortly after 12:15 p.m. on Friday, emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of N. Dupont Highway and School Lane in New Castle in response to reports of a multi-vehicle collision. The accident involved several vehicles, which brought a response from firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement.

Upon arrival, crews assessed the scene and requested a total of three ambulances. They also identified one patient who had to be extricated from their vehicle. Rescue teams worked carefully to free the individual from the wreckage.

At least one person was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Details regarding the severity of their injuries or whether other individuals were injured in the collision have not been made available.

For approximately an hour, the busy stretch of N. Dupont Highway was closed to traffic as crews worked to clear debris and ensure the area was safe for reopening.
