Christmas Day Crash Kills Mother, Traps Dad And Son, Dog Missing

Regional News – On Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25, 2018, 1:29 pm, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Princess Anne Barrack responded to a motor vehicle collision located at southbound US Rt. 13 and Quail Lane, Westover, Somerset County, Maryland.

Upon Troopers arrival, they located a 2012 Toyota Rav 4 that drove off the roadway into a ditch, struck a tree and overturned. The driver and the rear seat passenger, a 10-year-old boy were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted. The boy was flown by Trooper 7 to Johns Hopkins Hospital due to injuries sustained from the collision. The front seat passenger Rebbecca Kleinert, 47, of Levittown, NY was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS personnel. A 1-year-old German Shepherd that was in the vehicle at the time of the collision could not be located. Anyone that locates the missing dog is asked to contact the Princess Anne Barrack.
