Breaking: Crews Responding To Claymont House Fire, Resident Trapped

Claymont – Firefighters from across New Castle County are responding to the unit block of 3rd Avenue in the Overlook Colony development for reports of a house fire with one trapped in the basement.

Upon arrival, crews are reporting smoke showing and have confirmed entrapment.

Update: The resident has been located and removed to the back yard. Medics are being direct to the patient’s location.

Update: Heavy smoke in the home.

Update: Fire has been knocked down in the basement.

Command has placed the fire under control with crews remaining on scene for overhaul.

The patient in the care of New Castle County Paramedics and ambulance crews.
