Man Charged In Wednesday’s Fatal Stabbing, Victim Identified

Wilmington Police have made an arrest in connection with yesterday’s fatal stabbing incident.

At approximately 3:17 a.m. Wednesday morning, police located a 32-year-old male stabbing victim in the 200 block of Lincoln Street. The victim, who has been identified as Kevin Ramos, was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

During the initial investigation, police detained 43-year-old Kelly Roberts.

The case was assigned to Detective Matthew Reiss of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Reiss was able to identify Roberts as a suspect in the incident and arrest warrants were obtained Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Roberts has been charged with:
Murder (Second Degree)
Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $800,000 cash-only bail.
