Police: Man, Two Teens Charged After Chase Of Stolen Car

Wilmington Police have arrested two juveniles and an adult on gun charges and recovered a stolen vehicle, police said.

Officials said on June 22 at approximately 3:43 a.m., an officer on patrol attempted to conduct a vehicle stop in the 1700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. The vehicle fled but was located a short time later in the area of 2nd and King Streets. The occupants, 18-year-old Trudell Powell and two 16-year-old males, fled from the vehicle but were all quickly taken into custody without incident according to police. The vehicle was found to be stolen, and officers recovered a loaded 9mm handgun that had been reported stolen.

The first 16-year-old male was charged with the following offenses, in addition to traffic violations
Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
Receiving a Stolen Vehicle
Receiving a Stolen Firearm
Conspiracy (Second Degree)
Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $10,850 secured bail.

Powell was charged with the following offenses:
Receiving a Stolen Vehicle
Receiving a Stolen Firearm
Conspiracy (Second Degree)
Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $6,000 unsecured bail.

The second 16-year-old male was charged with the following offenses:
Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
Receiving a Stolen Vehicle
Receiving a Stolen Firearm
Conspiracy (Second Degree)
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $10,500 unsecured bail.
