The New Castle County Division of Police is attempting to locate a man wanted on a capias after failing to appear in court on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.
Authorities identified the individual as 45-year-old Roland Fleming. The warrant stems from an April 2025 crash in the Holloway Terrace community that resulted in the death of a 72-year-old man.
Police said the incident occurred on April 19, 2025, at approximately 11:59 a.m., when officers responded to the 500 block of West Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving an electric scooter. Upon arrival, officers located a black GMC Terrain operated by Fleming, a gray Chevrolet Traverse, and the victim, identified as 72-year-old John Christiansen of New Castle.
Investigators determined the GMC left the roadway, traveled onto the grass, and struck Christiansen, who had been seated on his scooter at the end of a driveway. The impact threw the victim into the northbound lane of West Avenue. The GMC continued forward before colliding with the parked Chevrolet Traverse.
Christiansen was transported to an area hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries on April 20, 2025.
Fleming was taken into custody following the crash and charged with multiple offenses, including Vehicular Assault in the First Degree and Driving Under the Influence. Police said he later failed to appear for a scheduled court proceeding, leading the New Castle County Superior Court to issue a capias for his arrest.
Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding Fleming’s whereabouts to contact the New Castle County Division of Police.
