Delaware Troopers Say There Could Be More Victims, Cop Charged With Rape

A former Delaware and Maryland police officer has been charged with rape following a Delaware State Police investigation into an alleged sexual assault that dates back to 2022.

According to the Delaware State Police, 33-year-old William Paskey, of Harrington, was arrested on May 5, 2026, after detectives with the Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit investigated allegations made by a woman who reported being sexually assaulted during a date at Paskey’s residence in September 2022.

Investigators said the victim met Paskey through a dating app before going to his home in Harrington. During the encounter, the victim alleged that Paskey became aggressive and engaged in nonconsensual sexual acts while ignoring multiple requests for him to stop. Police said Paskey was employed as a law enforcement officer at the time of the incident, but was not on duty.

Following consultation with the Delaware Department of Justice, detectives obtained a warrant for Paskey’s arrest. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 3, where he was charged with second-degree rape, a felony offense. Paskey was later arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released after posting a $20,000 secured bond.

State police said Paskey previously worked for several Delaware police departments between 2014 and 2021, including the Dagsboro, Ellendale, and Blades police departments. Most recently, he had been employed by the Town of Ridgely Police Department in Maryland.

Detectives said they believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information or who believes they may have been victimized is asked to contact Sergeant P. Taylor at (302) 698-8547.
